What is the Church to do?

The church holds the responsibility of teaching and preaching about sex frequently to its members. Pastors everywhere know that the Bible addresses the issue of sex and sexual immorality often, but what so few do is embrace the calling to preach the whole counsel of God to all of their congregation together. This idea that we should not talk about sex in mixed company is an unbiblical concept and has done more damage than any good. Just look back at the statistics. We believe men and women, young and aged, need to be taught about how the opposite sex tends to operate with everyone present and listening. Here’s the fact: if we as the church don’t teach on sex and teach it often, then the world will continue to have the leg-up on educating people about what sex is.

Our young people are learning about sex from tv, movies, music, friends, school, social media – and those outlets are speaking into their lives every single day. Pastors remain silent for the most part, and the ones that are speaking about sex to their people are usually doing so from an unbiblical perspective. The truth is that Satan will certainly use what we are not talking about and exhibit his power by distorting the truth about it to our people.

The church needs to teach, preach and equip its members to develop a healthy, biblical perspective and what sex is and be frequently warned against areas of sexual immorality. The church, in turn, will then equip godly parents to teach their children about sex adequately.
